これからは、グランジだ！ ミクスチャーだ！ USコアだ！ オルタナだ！ 革パンを短パンに履き替えて、下北の古着屋でネルシャツを漁る。無骨なギターと歪んだベース、スネアのリバーブはもちろんオフで！ とりあえず、デッドに、デッドに流れた90年代後半〜2000年の頃。そんな時代と空気の中で僕らは出会った。上京と再会、友達の友達、脱退と新たな出会いの中で、なんとなくスタジオに入って、ジャムって曲ができて、ライブをする。高円寺GEAR、新宿ANTIKNOCK、渋谷CYCLONE。ライブハウスを回り、デモテープを作った。「“なんとなく”こそ全て」と謳歌し、酔いしれた、当時の僕ら。indwatとは、そんなノー・フューチャー風に流された若者たちの記録。

 

indwat is a Tokyo-based band formed in the late ’90s—a record of young misfits who couldn’t quite surrender to the wave of grunge, US hardcore, and alternative rock. They jammed in studios, recorded lo-fi tracks, and played gigs at live houses like Koenji GEAR, Shinjuku ANTIKNOCK, and Shibuya CYCLONE—chasing a deliberately dead sound that captured the raw mood of the time. Their lyrics take a third-person view, embracing the aesthetic of ambiguity. Sung as if poetic, as if philosophical, as if meaningful—yet always left open to interpretation. indwat is a portrait of an era where “whatever” was not apathy, but a form of freedom.
